Rhyl,North Wales - More 'resources' to be put towards cleaning-up Rhyl after these photos surface online

I love Rhyl, but in fairness the place is a total dump, and the Council have made it so, the litter is it's least worry.

Denbighshire Council said it "underestimated" the amount of visitors who came to the town and has addressed the problem

Denbighshire Council has “diverted resources” into keeping Rhyl clean after pictures posted on social media showed unemptied bins and litter strewn across streets in the town.
The photos uploaded to the Rhyl Forum and shared on the Restoring Rhyl’s Reputation Facebook page show rubbish scattered over the High Street and promenade after a busy Tuesday in the town.
One man described how rubbish was blowing down the promenade after “almost every bin in the town was full to the brim”.
Sandra Estlick, whose pictures started the debate, said she was “saddened and angry at the mess on Rhyl High Street” after she took her dog for a walk in the town.
“Surely this problem could be resolved,” she said.
A spokeswoman for Denbighshire County Council said: “Yesterday the amount of visitors to Rhyl Town Centre and Promenade was underestimated and the situation with rubbish accumulated over a day.
“The problem has now been addressed and we have arranged for additional temporary wheelie bins to be located along the prom which will provide additional capacity during this particularly busy period.
“In addition we have diverted resources from other routine tasks in other areas to meet the demands in Rhyl over the next few days.”
Residents on Facebook blamed holidaymakers for the sharp increase in detritus but local councillor Brian Blakeley arranged for a clean up on Wednesday morning and the authority subsequently pledged the resources to tackle the rise in litter.
