Cardiff,South Wales - Fire crews in Cardiff are attending reports of a large plume of smoke in city

Fire crews from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service have received a number of calls from residents

Fire services and police responded to a report of fire at Hayes Engineering on Brindley Road off Hadfield Road in Cardiff

Crews are dampening down following fire

Fire crews are now dampening down following the fire, which has been extinguished, at Hayes Engineering on Brindley Road.

Nobody was injured during the fire

Ambulance services were not called to the incident and a spokeswoman for the fire services confirmed there were no injuries.

The fire was to the side of the building

A spokesperson for the fire services said the fire was to the side of the building and crews are still in attendance.

The Cardiff City match kick-off is at 3pm

The football match between Cardiff City and Queen Park Rangers is due to kick off at 3pm.
Fire services are asking people to avoid the Brindley Road area of Leckwith, which is a 15 minute walk from the stadium.

Police called to Hayes Engineering

A spokesman for South Wales Police confirmed they were called to reports of a fire at Hayes Engineering on Brindley Road at aroudn 12.45pm.
He said: “There’s a lot of black smoke coming from the building.”

The smoke is coming from a commercial building

A spokeswoman for South Wales Fire and Rescue has confirmed the smoke is coming from a commercial building on Brindley Road.

Fire services are at the scene

Fire crews were called to reports of smoke on Brindley Road in the Leckwith area of Cardiff at around 12.53pm.
They are currently in attendance.
