Christopher Matthew Griffiths appeared in Caernarfon crown court today but the hearing was adjourned
A man found guilty of cutting his own dog’s ears off has appealed against his conviction.
Christopher Matthew Griffiths had denied two charges of cutting the ears of a Staffordshire bull terrier but had been previously been found guilty by magistrates at Wrexham in May.
The dog, called Victor, had cocaine in his system, the court had heard and Griffiths was due to be sentenced on June 17.
Griffiths, of Bridge Street, Southsea, Wrexham, had told the court he was the victim of an attack and claimed the alleged offender had cut his dog’s ears off while he was unconscious.
Today, Griffiths appeared at Caernarfon Crown Court to appeal against that conviction.
His Honour Judge Philip Harris-Jenkins adjourned his appeal until July 29.
