A WOMAN was caught smuggling drugs into a prison - by hiding them in her bra.
Catherine Cowdry, 39, had an illegal haul of anti-depressants when she was stopped by security guards at a visiting area.
A court heard officers found tablets tucked inside her bra when she visited Cardiff Prison.
Prosecutor Jason Howells said: "The package contained Subutex and Subuxone tablets which are Class C drugs.
"They were inside her bra."
Cowdry admitted carrying prohibited items inside a prison at Newport Crown Court.
The court heard she'd carried out the smuggling act after her family were threatened.
Mr Howells said: "She said she had been shopping in Spar when a man approached her outside and threatened her.
"He said he 'knew about her children' and where she lived and although there was no specific threat she agreed to take the tablets to Cardiff Prison because of fear for the safety of her children."
Cowdry, of Glyncoch, Pontypridd , was jailed for six months and ordered to pay £1,000 costs.
Judge Michael Fitton said: "Everybody knows that taking drugs into prison is met with an immediate custodial sentence."
