POLICE are appealing for help after a train passenger had his ear sliced open following an altercation on a station platform.
Officers say the 21-year-old suffered a deep laceration to his ear which required stitches, and they are urging anyone with information to come forward.
The incident happened around 10.30pm on Wednesday, December 2, after the victim became involved in an argument with a man and woman at the station and was struck to the face.
British Transport Police detective constable Chris Bolton said: "The victim was with friends at Bridgend station when they became involved in a verbal altercation with another man and a woman.
"This quickly escalated, resulting in the victim being struck across the face. He sustained a nasty ear injury with his auricle sliced clean through, which required stitches."
Detectives have released CCTV images of two people they want to talk to in connection with the incident.
DC Bolton said: "We would like to speak to these people as a matter of urgency as I believe they may both be in a position to assist us with our ongoing enquiries. I would now urge them both to get in touch so we can ascertain the full circumstances of this incident."
