A POLICE ‘pop up’ shop has been set up in Llandudno to raise awareness about staying safe over the Christmas period.

Officers from the local policing team are now based at the Victoria Centre in the town every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am until 4pm.

The pop-up shop is part of a month-long initiative run by the local team who have secured space in the centre to set-up a crime prevention hub.

Various police departments are involved including Neighbourhood Watch and the Cyber Crime Team as well as colleagues from the Fire and Rescue Service and Trading Standards.

Sergeant Louise Scullion from the local policing team said: “I would encourage visitors to take advantage of the free services and crime prevention advice being offered at the pop-up shop. Working closely with local partners, we can increase people's awareness on issues including burglary, vehicle and doorstep crime, and reduce the cost of these types of incidents to both individuals and businesses.

“It’s an excellent opportunity for people to meet the team – which will include PCs, PCSOs, Special Constables and Cadets. If you are out in Llandudno please call in to see us.”

The shop is situated in between Claire's and Specsavers and is open every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am until 4pm.
