A criminal was caught after thousands of people publicly mocked a police mugshot showing his large forehead.
Police issued a public appeal on their force Facebook page to find fugitive Lewis Thomson, 31, after he walked out of an open prison.
But the official police page was taken over by a flood of internet jokers making fun of Thompson’s large head.
One post - liked almost 14,000 times - said: “I don’t think you’ll catch him. He has a huge headstart.”
Others included: “Looks like a roll on deodorant with eyes.”
Another said: “I bet he’s one of those few rare people who could walk into a hall of mirrors and look normal.”
In the initial Facebook post, Gwent Police said: “We’re appealing for information to help locate 31-year-old Lewis Thompson who failed to return to HMP Prescoed at midnight on 14/12/15.
“Lewis Thompson was convicted of attempted robbery and sentenced to an indeterminate sentence with a minimum of 42 months in prison. He has links in the Avon and Somerset, Gloucester and South Wales Police areas.
“Anyone who might have seen him or has any information about his whereabouts is asked to contact Gwent Police.”

One Facebook user told police: “Have a look at the bottom of a hill where all the Kings horses and all the Kings men are gathering.”
Another said: “He’s with his mate Pinky trying to take over the world again.”Gwent Police said they were “aware” of the comments on their Facebook page and said Thompson was heading back to his cell.
