Two police officers escaped injury after their patrol car was hit by a stolen lorry inMonmouth .
The driver and passenger in the John Deere flatbed vehicle which crashed into them were both wearing balaclavas and ran off, detectives say.
The collision happened on the Old Dixton Road, which runs next to Monmouth Comprehensive School , at around 11.15pm on Monday.
One ran off in the direction of the school, the other towards Wyesham.
Agricultural items found
Gwent Police said today: “Both police officers were thankfully uninjured.
“A number of agricultural items were found in the vehicle. Officers suspect that both the vehicle and the items inside have been stolen from a nearby farm.”
