A worker for a Colwyn Bay motorbike dealer admitted that he stole stock worth £9,400 and sold it on ebay.
Gary Waddington, aged 24, of York Road, Colwyn Bay, was bailed for sentencing at Caernarfon crown court on January 15. Magistrates’ chairman Bill Chapman told him at Llandudno: "Our powers are insufficient.”
Prosecutor James Neary said, in October, Colwyn Bay Motorcycles were informed by a supplier that helmet stickers, which were allowed to be sold by retailers only, had been offered for sale on the internet site.
Waddington told his employer in a text :"I can’t describe how sorry I am to you and your family. I am totally disgusted with myself.”
Mr Neary said motorcycle gloves, helmets, goggles, and Bluetooth communication systems had been sold on ebay. “It was discovered by chance,” the prosecutor added.
Defence solicitor Graham Parry said Waddington was “dreadfully upset and thoroughly ashamed of what he has done.”
Mr Parry remarked :"He says he probably just wasted the money.”
The defendant’s family would ensure compensation was paid.
