Three cars have been damaged after a fire in Cardiff in the early hours of Christmas Eve – which police are treating as arson.
The blaze began to spread between the vehicles, which were parked in Caernarvon Way,Trowbridge , shortly after 4am.
One neighbour, who asked not to be identified, said: “It could have killed someone and people had to be evacuated. I woke up and saw the flames and at first I thought my son’s bedroom was on fire.”
A police spokeswoman confirmed the incident was being treated as arson.
Appeal for information
She said: “ South Wales Police is investigating an arson incident in Caernarvon Way, Trowbridge, Cardiff , which happened at around 4am this morning (Thursday).
“It is believed that two vehicles were deliberately set alight causing further damage to a third vehicle.”
South Wales Fire and Rescue Service said two hose reels were used to extinguish the flames. Crews were at the scene for about 45 minutes, leaving just after 5am.
