Brazen thieves hotwired an excavator to smash open a shipping container and steal tools just across some fields from police headquarters.
Now KM Construction (NW) are offering a £1,000 reward for information about the incident, which was caught on CCTV.
It happened on land alongside Glascoed Road at St Asaph Business Park where a new crematorium is being developed.
A group of at least three men were caught on camera at the site just after 11pm on December 18.
It is believed two other building firms working on the land were also targeted during the raid.
Chris Groves, one of the company directors said: “Whoever carried out this well-timed crime have been pretty cheeky about it.
“They have done it in very close proximity to the main road and police station.
“The thieves hotwired one of our machines and used it to rip off the container doors so they could get the tools inside.
“The noise must’ve been pretty hefty.”
He added: “There are seven contractors working on site and three of us have had tools taken.”
The builders are working to develop a new £4m crematorium, car park and gardens of remembrance on behalf of Oxfordshire firm, Memoria.
Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact police on 101 quoting incident reference number S193392.
