CAERNARFON residents have been warned to report suspicious behaviour after two burglaries in the town.
Handbags, cash, personal effects, house keys and a mobile phone were among the items snatched from houses in the area between Sunday, December 20 and Thursday, December 24.
North Wales Police have urged people to ensure their property is kept locked and secure.
DC Ceri Wasiuk at Caernarfon CID said: “On both occasions it appears opportunist thieves took advantage of insecure front doors.
“If you witnessed any suspicious activity during these times or know anything about the break-ins please contact Police on 101.
“I’d also like to remind residents to check their home security.
“We want people to make it as difficult as possible for thieves.”
The first incident took place between 10pm on Sunday, December 20 and about 8am the next morning in the Twthill area of Caernarfon.
The second was during the early hours of Christmas Eve in Marcus Street.
DC Wasiuk added: “The investigation into residential burglaries is a North Wales Police priority.
“But it must be emphasised we still need assistance from our local communities to both reduce incidents of this nature in the first place as well as identify those responsible.
“It is worth reminding all house holders to be vigilant at all times and if you see any suspicious behaviour contact police immediately.”
Anyone with information should contact police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 and quote RC15194267.
