Police are appealing for witnesses after a “suspicious fire” in Wrexham yesterday evening.
The alarm was raised to the incident at a property in Y Wern, Caia Park at 6.45pm.
Two appliances from Wrexham were sent to the scene and firefighters dealt with a blaze in the bedroom of a flat.
A Fire Service spokeswoman said firefighters wore breathing apparatus to get close to the blaze and along with hose reel jets also used thermal imaging cameras.
The spokeswoman added there was 100% damage to the bedroom with heat and smoke damage to the rest of the property.
No one is reported to have been injured.
After an investigation by fire fighters North Wales Police have made an appeal for witnesses with the cause of the fire described by officers as “suspicious”.
A North Wales Police spokesman said: “Anyone who has information is asked to contact North Wales Police on 101 and quote U100222 or, alternatively, individuals can contact the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
