Cardiff,South Wales - Two people arrested after Cardiff city centre disturbance involving up to 40 people

The disturbance happened on Saturday evening

Police are appealing for those with mobile phone footage of the incident to come forward

Police have arrested two people after a disturbance in Cardiff that involved up to 40 people.
The incident happened on Wood Street on Saturday night, and police are appealing for those with mobile phone footage of the incident to come forward.
Two people were arrested in the incident- a 16-year-old boy from Grangetown, who is on bail pending further enquiries, and Hodan Farah, 22, from Grangetown, who is due to appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on July 26, charged with obstructing a police officer.

No one was seriously injured

Detective inspector Debbie Brown, from South Wales Police , said: “Fortunately nobody was seriously injured however such disturbances will not be tolerated on the streets of Cardiff and extensive enquiries are being made to identify those responsible.”
Police were called to the scene on Wood Street, Cardiff
According to the police, CCTV footage shows bystanders using their mobile phones, possibly taking pictures of or filming the incident, and they say that footage might help officers identify who is involved.
Police also want to hear from anyone who witnessed a group of young people running past the entrance of Cardiff Castle sometime between 6.30pm and 7.30pm on the same day.
Witnesses, or anyone with mobile footage or other information, is asked to call South Wales Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting reference number 237482.
