A man has been charged with the murder of retired lecturer Iris Owens .
The 75-year-old was found dead at her home in Ystrad Mynach on Tuesday.
A 47-year-old man was arrested following the incident on Nelson Road.
He has now been charged with murder and will appear at Newport Magistrates Court on Saturday.
Mrs Owens’ family are being supported by specialist officers.
