A huge fire broke out on Thursday night at a disused club in Newport , and officers believe it was started deliberately.
Crews from four fire stations were called to the scene of Mary Dunn at 11.32pm to the Mary Dunn Club on Jenkin Street, which was well alight.
Five fire engines worked for over two hours to extinguish the blaze at the single storey building in Lliswerry.
A South Wales Fire service spokeswoman said at the height of the fire, a total of 15 999 calls were received.
Crews from Newport, Malpas, Duffryn, Maindee and Aberbargoed were in attendance.
The site will be reinspected at 8am this morning.
