Wrexham,North Wales - Police search canal as part of historic murder investigation

Published date: 25 May 2016 |

POLICE divers have been drafted in as part of an ongoing historic murder investigation.
The specialist team were today seen working along a stretch of the Llangollen Canal at Moreton, near Oswestry.
It follows investigations by North Wales Police at a nearby smallholding in Gobowen last week and searches in woodland on the outskirts of Bwlchgwyn, near Wrexham, over the weekend.
A spokesperson for NWP today said: “Police divers are searching parts of the Llangollen Canal as part of the ongoing operation involving the historic murder investigation in the Wrexham area.”
The probe was launched after detectives received a tip-off that an unidentified man had been murdered and buried in the Wrexham area.
North Wales Police would like to hear from anyone who may have information to help them with their alleged murder investigation. Call them on 101 or via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
