ACTION against anti-social behaviour in a park and cemetery is working, according to police.
Sgt Steve Owens of North Wales Police said two £100 fines were handed out for drinking at Rhosddu Park and Cemetery over the weekend under a public space protection order (PSPO).
He added: “The intervention is proving a success and the amount of incidents has reduced enormously.
“The presence of the people that were causing the problem has gone, really.”
Wrexham Council last month issued a three-year public space protection order (PSPO) for Rhosddu Park and Cemetery.
Council staff and police can issue fixed penalties of £100 for anti-social behaviour such as drinking, drug-taking, sleeping rough and littering in the area.
The measure was taken after concerns were raised by Cllr Steve Wilson.
