Police launched a murder investigation after the death of a 73-year-old man in Ogmore Vale

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murdering of a pensioner in Ogmore Vale .
A 49-year-old man, also from the area, has been arrested on suspicion of killing the 73-year-old man which is alleged to have happened sometime between Sunday and Monday.

He has also been arrested on suspicion of the attempted murder of a 21-year-old woman which was reported to police at around 10.45pm on Sunday.
The woman is being treated for her injuries which police described as non-life threatening.
Councillor Dhanisha Patel, who represents Ogmore Vale on Bridgend council, said she had been notified by police that an investigation was being carried out.

She said: "I think people still aren't sure what has happened and they're alarmed to see the police around and the tape but people are still asking questions about what has happened."
