Two brothers attacked a boxer who was out shopping for a dummy for his baby,
Martyn Ozzrick Knight-Jones and Anthony Knight spotted Martin Jones outside the Spar shop in Penyfford .
When Mr Jones returned to his car, he found it blocked in. One of the men in the car, Stephen New, got out with his fists clenched, wanting to fight.
Mr Jones - who had fallen out with Knight-Jones some years before - was then surrounded by the three men and a fourth, Toby Lee Rogers.
The boxer managed to defend himself, staying behind one of the cars, and when a bystander intervened he was able to get away.
The men gave chase in their vehicle and twice rammed the convertible Mini Mr Jones was driving.
The two brothers claimed that Mr Jones had been the aggressive one, and had denied that he’d been followed or rammed.
Anthony Knight said that he had not been involved in the incident and simply wanted to make a citizen’s arrest when he saw Mr New being struck.
The brothers’ father, Terry Knight, gave evidence for the defendants and said that the damage to the front of the Megane they were in had been there previously. It occurred when he was driving the vehicle, he said.
It had been alleged that Knight-Jones got a knife from the vehicle but he was cleared of possessing a knife during the July 28, 2015 incident.
Knight-Jones,26, of White Lion Close, Summerhill, said he knew nothing about the knife, and all he had done was to film the incident on his mobile phone.
He claimed the phone had been in the car but must have been lost by the police.
Anthony Knight, 25, of Hazel Drive in Penyffordd near Mold, said that he had not been involved in the incident and simply wanted to make a citizen’s arrest when he saw Mr New being struck.
The brothers will be sentenced next week along with Rogers, 29, of Maes Glyndwr in Treuddyn and New, 27 of Damson Cottage in Frith, who admitted the affray charge at an earlier occasion.
