A musician has been jailed after exposing himself to female shoppers in a fashion store – despite claiming he was re-adjusting a testicle swollen “to the size of an avocado” by a rare medical condition.
Maximilien Kelly claimed in a Swansea Crown Court trial in April the need to readjust the swollen testicle was to blame for “inadvertently” exposing himself to female shoppers at Matalan in Aberystwyth last September.
The guitarist told the court he suffered from a condition called hydrocele which he claimed made his testicles swell up to four times their normal size.
But the 25-year-old was found guilty unanimously by a jury of indecent exposure.

The jury took three hours to make up their minds.
And after Kelly was found guilty it emerged he had a string of previous indecent exposure convictions having exposed himself from the window of his home in Park Street, Aberystwyth, six times.
On occasions he used a laser pen to attract females before exposing himself from his window.

He was given a suspended jail term by Ceredigion magistrates – a term which was still active by the time he committed the offences in Matalan, the court heard.
At a sentencing hearing in Swansea Crown Court on Friday Kelly was jailed for a total of 20 weeks for exposing himself in Matalan on September 30 last year.
The victims were women aged from 18 to 22 who were shopping at the time, the court heard.
And Judge Peter Heywood gave Kelly a further 16 week-term for breaching the suspended jail sentence he was given for the earlier offences of exposing himself to people passing his window meaning he was sentenced to a total of 36 weeks in jail.

Kelly has also been banned from entering Matalan.
Stephen Rees, for Kelly, claimed the defendant had been dealt with “too harshly” previously.
He argued that Kelly would make more progress if he was spared custody.
But Judge Heywood, sentencing, told Mr Rees: “I take the view that I would be failing in my public duty if I did anything other than activate that breach.”
