The death of a 44-year-old Rhyl man could have been “caused by a criminal act” and is being treated as suspicious by police.
Liam James Hill was found dead in a flat at 70 West Parade in Rhyl on Friday, January 8, and his body was sent for post mortem on Tuesday, January 12.
Following the examination, police opened an investigation after the results raised questions about the nature of Mr Hill’s injuries.
North Wales Police have appealed for information as they try and piece together what happened to the victim.
DCI Andrew Williams said: “We have significant concerns about the injuries found by the pathologist and we have therefore launched an investigation.
“Detectives will be piecing together Mr Hill’s last known movements.
“We are very keen for anyone who knew him and his lifestyle, habits, other friends or associates, particularly those who have seen him recently, to come forward and help us build a picture.”
Specialist police family liaison officers are assisting Mr Hill’s family.
“On their behalf, we would like anyone with information to come forward as soon as possible,” said DCI Williams.
Anyone with information is asked to call North Wales Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 and quote operation Panatella.
