Two necklaces, a bracelet, brooch and pair of earrings disappeared from the BBC Wales HQ in Llandaff

Staff at BBC’s Crimewatch put out an appeal to locate a haul of jewellery – after it went missing from their own Cardiff studio.
Two glittering necklaces, along with a bracelet, brooch, and a pair of earrings have vanished from the BBC Wales headquarters.
The costume gems were put in ordinary shopping bags ahead of a shoot but went missing from inside the building in Llandaff.
An email appeal has been sent to 1,200 staff who work in the building over the missing jewellery.

'Disappeared from basement area'

The message was titled: “CRIMEWATCH – MISSING PERSONAL ITEMS” and included a picture of the double doors at the BBC studios where the pieces were last seen.
It said: “Sorry for the mass email but we have exhausted other options.
“We have mislaid some personal jewellery that never made it into our van before filming and unfortunately now they have disappeared from the BBC Broadcasting House basement area by these double doors.
“Items were last seen in green Tesco bags for life last week.”

Security at the building were alerted to their disappearance in the all-round email from Crimewatch crew member Rebecca Conley.
A spokeswoman for the BBC described the items as “costume jewellery being used as props” and said police have not yet been called in.
One staff member said: “It is a bit embarrassing for Crimewatch to appeal for help when they may well be the victims of a crime.
“It is not nice to think that somebody within the BBC may have walked off with this jewellery.”
