POLICE are appealing for help after men apparently armed with a can of petrol and matches robbed a newsagents of thousands of pounds in cash.
The raid happened at Maendy Square Newsagents, Pontnewydd, Cwmbran, at around 12.50pm this afternoon.

Police say two men entered the shop with what is believed to be petrol and lighters, demanded money from staff and left with several thousand pounds. The pair made-off on foot towards Maendy Way.
Officers say no one was harmed during the robbery, and enquiries are on-going.
