Rhyl,North Wales - Murder detectives search Rhyl bar where victim was last seen

Forensic teams and crime scene investigators are scouring Bar Bow on Water Street

A bar where murder victim Liam Hill was last seen alive is currently being searched by police.
Forensic teams and scenes of crime officers are scouring the Bar Bow in Rhyl as part of an investigation to try and piece together the 44-year-old’s final movements.
Eyewitnesses described seeing police activity on Water Street.
One told the Daily Post: “Police and crime scene investigators are in Bar Bow in town. The pub is closed and crime scene officers are fully suited.”
The discovery of Mr Hill’s body in his flat at 70 West Parade, Rhyl shortly before 2pm on January 8 sparked a murder inquiry.

Earlier this week, North Wales Central Coroner John Gittins said the unemployed man was pronounced dead by paramedics at around 2.36pm.
A post mortem was carried out by Dr Brian Rodgers at Ysbyty Glan Clwyd with a cause of death deferred to inquest.
Mr Gittins said: “As this appears to be an unnatural death it is not my intention to set a date for the hearing as criminal investigations are ongoing.”
Senior Investigating Officer DCI Andrew Williams said: “It is crucial we establish Mr Hill’s whereabouts in the two days leading up to the discovery of his body on Friday afternoon.
“So far we are aware he was seen in the Bar Bow Pub in Water Street Rhyl on the evening of January 6, and following our last appeal we now believe he collected a take away meal from the Asher Indian Restaurant close to the town’s police station the following evening, January 7.
“But where else was he during those two days and possibly on the morning of Friday 8th?”
In order to identify further witnesses local police officers are distributing a number of posters calling for help with the investigation around Mr Hill’s home address, local pubs and take-aways, community centres and other public buildings.
His mother Catherine Hill, who lives in the area, paid tribute to her son last week: “Liam was the most loving son you could wish to have.”
Liam grew up in Wirral and went to Sacred Heart Primary School in Moreton and St Mary’s Catholic High School in Wallasey Village.
