Swansea,South Wales - Heroin dealers caught after a phone call to police from a concerned mum

Peter Cole and Damien Weaving were jailed at Swansea Crown Court
POLICE uncovered a heroin dealing operation after a concerned mum rang officers about the safety of her son, a court has heard.
When officers responded to the call and went to a house in the Penlan area of Swansea the occupant was out — but just as the mother had told them, they found a plastic tub containing 265 grams of heroin hidden under a kitchen cabinet.
That find led officers to execute a search warrant at address in Portmead where they found four men — including Peter Cole and Damien Weaving.

Kevin Jones, prosecuting, told Swansea Crown Court that when officers searched Cole they found he had almost 77 grams of heroin, plus small amounts of cocaine and cannabis, along with £1,100 in cash.
Cole, aged 30, of Paviland Place in Portmead, and 28-year-old Weaving, of no fixed address, had both previously pleaded guilty on a basis to supplying heroin when they appeared in the dock for sentencing.
The court heard Cole had a £200-a-day heroin addiction and had turned to dealing after running up drug debts to other dealers.
Weaving had a £60-a-day addiction, and had helped Cole package and supply heroin to users in the city in return for a "reward" from Cole in the form of drugs.
The court heard no further police action was taken against the other two men in the Portmead house, nor against the man whose kitchen stash had led to the arrests — barrister Mr Jones said Cole was paying the man £10 a day to store the drugs under the cupboard.
Stephen Thomas, for Cole, said his client understood he was facing a period in custody.
He said Cole had successfully kicked his addiction but had relapsed following the death of his partner from an overdose — he said Cole was a "street dealer" who "lacked the business acumen" to be a major player.
The barrister said his client was remorseful for what he had done and recognised the impact his lifestyle was having on his parents, "who are still being targeted by drug suppliers" for money he owes.
Robin Rouch, for Weaving, said his client had also previously successfully kicked his addiction but had gone back to drugs as a "crutch" following the death of his mother.
Mr Rouch said that when released, Weaving planned to move away from Swansea and make a fresh start.
Judge Keith Thomas said the public were rightly concerned about the supply and use of Class A drugs in Swansea, something which was "prevalent" — he sentenced Cole to a total of four years in prison and Weaving to 32 months.
