A thug who battered a man with a pool cue outside a Felinheli pub has been jailed.
Stephen Aaron Jones, 36, attacked the man outside the Tafarn y Fic in an unprovoked assault.
Victim Darren Wyn Jones was standing smoking a cigarette when he was struck on the back of the head with a cue that happened to be there.
Mr Jones tried to crawl away, in fear of another attack.
Jones, of Ty’n Lon, Holyhead , then stamped on him, causing him severe injuries to tendons in his left knee.
Mold Crown Court heard Mr Jones had been left unable to walk for some time or put any weight on his knee. He spent some time in hospital and had to undergo surgery, needing to take three months off work.
Jones had denied wounding Mr Jones in January last year.
Defending barrister Anna Pope, defending, said that shortly before the incident that Lock had lost his father and an aunt.
He did not intend the injury that was caused and did regret it.
During the trial the defendant claimed that he had been attacked.
Recorder Duncan Bould said he must go to jail for the attack, locking him up for two years.
