The man was arrested in Newtown, Powys.
A man has appeared at Cardiff Crown Court charged with attempted murder over an alleged attack 10 years ago.
Jason Humble, 50, is accused of attacking another man in 2006 in Commercial Street, Ogmore Vale.
Humble who was arrested on December 31 last year in Newtown, Powys and was later charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon.
Humble spoke only to confirm his name during the brief hearing.
He was remanded in custody ahead and will appear in court again in March.
