The video posted on Youtube shows the men driving through Splott and the city centre
Police have launched an appeal for information after four men were filmed riding through Cardiff on the back of a single moped while appearing to be drunk.
The video posted on YouTube show the men travelling through the capital’s city centre and an area of Splott.
Footage appears to show at least one of the men drinking from what looks like a can of lager as all four cling to the back of a one-man moped.
They can also be heard chanting: “We do what we want!”
Uploaded onto the video sharing site on Saturday by web user CudgieDon TV, the film, labelled “4s up on a scooter Driving threw Cardiff City drunk”, shows the group crammed onto the back of the bike as they hurtle down a busy main road.
'We're going to get locked up'
At one point they are seen almost hitting oncoming traffic while crossing a busy junction
One of the riders is heard saying: “We’re going to get locked up, I’m gonna’ do four years for this.”
All four are seen repeatedly waving their arms in the air, with no apparent regard for their own safety and only one is seen wearing a helmet throughout.
South Wales Police is now investigating the footage.
'Behaviour cannot be tolerated'
Inspector Rob Gwynne-Thomas of the Roads Policing Unit said: “The behaviour of all four of these individuals is of clear concern.
“It is both irresponsible and dangerous, not only to those individuals on the motorcycle but also to other road users.
“Such dangerous and illegal use of motorcycles will not be tolerated and will be investigated and those responsible brought before the courts.”
Anyone who recognises any of those riding the motorcycle are asked to contact South Wales Police on 101 or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 quoting the occurrence number 20274.
