Rhyl,North Wales - Brick-wielding burglar breaks into Kinmel Bay home

Victim Carol Hughes caught the man smashing a window on CCTV at her home on Foryd Road

This CCTV footage shows the moment a burglar smashes a window before breaking into a house.
The hooded man gains entry into the property on Foryd Road in Kinmel Bay in the early hours of the evening.
Victim Carol Hughes was out at the time, but thinks the man was disturbed by the family dog.
Her daughter Lucille Green posted CCTV footage and images on Facebook in a bid to track down the culprit.
Speaking to the Daily Post, Carol said: “The scumbag decided to pick up a brick to smash my window and stole my laptop.
“He walked from the direction of Betws Avenue in Kinmel Bay at 6.35pm on January 11. He then turned down Moelwyn Avenue East.
“I have footage of him walking down Foryd Road at 6.39pm towards the Rhyl direction.”

Lucille said: “The person who did this clearly has no morals.
“That laptop contained lots of photographs of the family.
“This is the second time this has happened to my mum in six months and she’s lived there for 35 years.
“It’s frightening for her. She’s 58 years old and she’s absolutely petrified.
“She’s even been sleeping on the couch because she’s too scared to go to bed.”
Lucille said neighbours are also having CCTV installed amid fears of a spate of break-ins.
“When a man came out to fix the window, he said he’d been to fix another two around the corner from us,” she added.
“It’s scary really. Luckily, this person only got away with a laptop. We think he was disturbed by the dog.”
A North Wales Police spokesman said: “We received reports of a burglary at an address on Foryd Road where a stone or rock was used to smash a window.
“An unknown offender forced entry into the property.”
Anyone with information is asked to call North Wales Police on 101, quoting incident reference number U005319.
