A police investigation has been launched after the discovery of a body in the Neath area.

A road in Briton Ferry has been sealed off by police after the discovery of the body at 9.45am today.

Forensic officers and six police cars are currently on Thomas Street.

Police and forensic offers have cordoned off St Thomas Street and the back alley in Briton Ferry after finding a body this morning

South Wales Police said today: "Officers are currently at the scene and an investigation is underway."

A spokesman added that there was no further information available at this time.

The Ambulance Service NHS Trust said they were called to an address in Briton Ferry just before 10am this morning, but could not give any more details.
