Police release photo of duck savaged by loose dog in bid to shock owners into keeping control of their animals

A duck was killed on Anglesey when a dog got loose from its owner and attacked it.
The Daily Post takes no pleasure in showing this image, however we feel it’s important to show the consequences of not having proper control of your animal.
The Indian Running Duck was killed on December 28 at Pentraeth when the dog – whose breed has not been released – entered the field and attacked.
North Wales Police rural crime team boss Sgt Rob Taylor said the owner of the dog was identified.
He said: “It was resolved with a community resolution. The owner apologised to the victim and paid compensation.
“We can’t emphasise enough that owners must have proper control of their dogs at all times.
“We will continue to enforce the law and owners can see large fines and also court orders for their dogs to be destroyed.”
“The last two years the team have identified 239 separate livestock attack incidents in North Wales alone, with an upsurge in husky attacks last year.
“We have seen many before our courts last year and we will continue to do so.”
