Flint,North Wales - Man accused of striking toddler with a belt

The trial is taking place at Chester Crown Court

Michal Wlodarczyk, 40, denies charges of child cruelty, assaulting a woman occasioning actual bodily harm and perverting the course of justice 

Flintshire man has appeared in court accused of striking a toddler with a belt.
Michal Wlodarczyk, 40, is alleged to have assaulted the three year old boy sometime between June 13 and August 1 last year.
He is also accused of punching, kicking and strangling a woman in a separate attack on August 2.
Wlodarczyk, of Maes Gwyn, Flint, is then alleged to have made threatening phone calls to her between August 8 and August 16 in an attempt to get her to retract her statement.
He denies charges of child cruelty, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and perverting the course of justice.
A jury trial at Mold Crown Court, sitting at Chester, heard that Wlodarcyzk had struck the child on the back with a belt, leaving him with a bruise about 8cm long and 2cm wide.
Michael Whitty, prosecuting, said that the defendant is also accused of assaulting a woman who wet herself during the terrifying attack.
The court also heard that Wlodarczyk, had threatened to burn her alive.
Mr Whitty said: “The defendant began to shake her and called her offensive names.
“He threw her onto the ground and kicked her. He kneeled on her neck and said he’d strangle her there and then.”
Giving evidence, the complainant said: “He put me on the floor, then he was strangling me with his leg.
“He pinned me down with his leg across my throat.
“I wet myself as he was pushing his leg on my neck.”
She also told the court that the defendant appeared to be “under the influence of some substances”.
The trial continues.
