Vehicle targeted in Bryn Estyn Lane shortly before 1am, police and fire chiefs say
Arsonists have destroyed another car in Wrexham this morning - the fourth in two weeks.
This time they targeted a vehicle on Bryn Estyn Lane shortly before 1am.
Nobody was injured in the incident but it is another worrying firebug attack in Wrexham which shows no signs of stopping.
This is despite repeated warnings from the emergency services lives are being put at risk and precious resources tied up.
A North Wales Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “We sent one fire engine from Wrexham.
“The vehicle suffered 80% fire damage and nobody was injured in the incident.
“The cause was deliberate ignition.”
A fortnight ago three cars were torched within the space of four minutes in Wrexham in Rhosrobin , which spread to two homes in the early hours.
Two cars were deliberately set on fire on a driveway on Maes Hyfryd before another car was targeted on nearby Briarswood just minutes later.
It is the latest in a string of arson attacks across Wrexham in recent years where scores of vehicles across the county have been torched costing the fire service thousands of pounds to attend.
Anybody with information on arson attacks is asked to call North Wales Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
