Swansea,South Wales - Pregnant woman devastated after thieves steal her baby shower gifts including the cake

The thieves left behind empty gift bags and ripped up her cards

An expectant mum has been left devastated after thieves stole all of her baby shower presents leaving behind only the empty bags.
Due to give birth in five weeks, mum-to-be Zoe Saunders had just finished celebrating with family and friends in Swansea when thieves struck outside her dad’s house.
The 27-year-old Morriston Hospital nurse was on her way back home to Cimla when she stopped to see her dad John Saunders for a coffee just yards from where the party took place.
When she returned to the car less than an hour later, the boot was open and everything was gone.
John Saunders hopes the culprits can be found
Mr Saunders, aged 54, said: “We just felt sick to the stomach when we saw what had happened.
“We’d had a fantastic day and were having a coffee and a chat in the house afterwards when this happened. The car was parked right outside the house.
“We all work hard for what we’ve got, and then people come along and do this - it is really frustrating.

“It’s not just the gifts that are gone, it’s the personal messages and items people had given.
“My daughter doesn’t need this stress and upset at the moment.
“I hope we can identify the people who did this.”
Mr Saunders said he spent hours searching the streets looking for clues and found some missing baby cards - most of them ripped-up and dumped on the side of the road.
He has given them to police who are now examining them.

“The theft happened between 7.20pm and 8.20pm on Sunday, February 12.
“The culprits removed a number of gifts which had been given to the victim as part of a ‘baby shower’ - including a celebratory cake.
