Officers released these CCTV images as they investigate the armed robbery at the One Stop Shop in Usk
A man holding a metal bar and a knife demanded money from a shop’s safe before escaping with a "substantial amount" of cash.
The man approached staff outside the One Stop Shop in Usk on Sunday at around 6am when they were opening up and demanded to be taken to the safe.
Police have now released these CCTV images of armed robbery in which a man is seen holding a metal bar and a small knife which may have had a red blade or a handle.
He managed to get away with a “substantial amount” of money.
The man is described as 5’10” tall, of slim build, and was wearing grey or white jogging bottoms, black shoes, a camouflage jacket with the hood up and a scarf over his face.
Gwent Police are looking to speak to two potential witnesses, the first spoke to an officer following the incident and made reference to a vehicle leaving the car park at speed.
The second was a female witness who went into the shop following the robbery.
