Aaron McKenzie is one of three men believed to have tried to raid shops in Gresford and Wrexham
A £2000 reward has been put up as police try to catch a man wanted over attempted robberies.
The McColls newsagents in Rhosesni Lane in Wrexham was targeted at 7.50am, when two men threatened a delivery driver who confronted them when they tried to gain entry.
They escaped in a red Fiat driven by the third man and entered the Spar Shop on Chester Road, Gresford, threatening staff with a knife and a hammer and demanding the contents of the safe.
Although two arrests have been made, McKenzie remains at large and the reward of up to £2,000 for information that leads to his capture has been put up by Crimestoppers.
Gary Murray, North Wales Regional Manager for Crimestoppers, said: “These two incidents were particularly harrowing for the people threatened, and while the robberies were unsuccessful, it’s vital we don’t let incidents like this happen again.
“We would urge anyone with information on Aaron McKenzie’s whereabouts to please contact Crimestoppers.
“We don’t want to know who you are, you won’t have to give a statement to police or go to court.”
