A 23-year-old man has been charged with five terrorism offences and is due to appear in court on Thursday.
Nathan Saunders, from Tredegar , will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court charged with possessing a record of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.
He has been charged with five counts under Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
Saunders was arrested by officers from the North East Counter Terrorism Unit (NE CTU) and Wales Extremism and Counter Terrorism Unit (WECTU) on February 8 after a joint, intelligence-led investigation.
A warrant of further detention was granted on February 10.

Detective Superintendent Lee Porter, head of Wales Extremism and Counter Terrorism Unit (WECTU), said: “Welsh police forces continue to work closely with their partners and communities to reassure local people and protect the public.
“Extremism and radicalisation is something that we continue to be constantly vigilant about.
“Nobody is better placed to detect something that is out of place in their communities than the people living in them.
"To effectively combat the terrorism threat the police, businesses, government and the general public need to work together.”
