Police have launched a crackdown on drug dealing in Gwynedd called Operation Rattle
Undercover police found a man carrying two large knives and a quantity of class A drugs during a raid.
The man was stopped by plain clothes officers on The Crescent, Bangor on Monday night as part of Operation Rattle - the North Wales Police crackdown on the supply and possession of drugs in Gwynedd.
Officers also raided a property in Maesgeirchen in Bangor on Wednesday and arrested a woman on suspicion of supplying class A drugs and possession of class B drugs.
Det Sgt Andy Davies said more action is planned as part of Operation Rattle: “Our focus of targeting those few in our communities who cause the most harm will continue.
“Operation Rattle is an on-going investigation targeting those who bring controlled drugs into Gwynedd and Mon from outside North Wales and in line with Operation Scorpion is directly targeting those involved in serious and organised crime. We are determined to keep our communities safe.
“Possession and distribution of controlled drugs will not be tolerated in our communities and we will continue to take positive, robust action.
“However we can’t tackle this problem alone and key to all our work, and that of our partners, is intelligence and I cannot emphasise enough the importance of the community sharing their concerns with us.”
North Wales Police confirmed a 44-year-old Pwllheli man was charged with a misuse of drugs act offence and possession of bladed articles and will appear before magistrates next month.
A 32-year-old Bangor woman was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of Class A Controlled Drugs and Possession of Class B and bailed.
Anyone with information on the supply of drugs should call police on 101 or anonymously by phoning Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
