Nicholas Lessiter, of Gwynfryn Avenue, and Rebecca Barnes, of Mwrog Street, Ruthin, have also denied inflicting grievous bodily harm on the child
A man has denied the rape of a toddler under the age of two.
He and a woman have also denied inflicting grievous bodily harm on the child.
Nicholas Lessiter, 25, of Gwynfryn Avenue, Rhyl, and Rebecca Barnes, 22, of Mwrog Street, Ruthin, will go on trial in September.
Judge Rhys Rowlands, sitting at Mold Crown Court, was told that the trial could last eight days.
Lessiter is charged with rape in April of last year.
Both are charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent, an alternative charge of straight grievous bodily harm, and a charge of cruelty – that they wilfully neglected the toddler in a matter likely to cause him unnecessary suffering or injury to his health.
The two defendants pleaded not guilty to all charges today.
Specialist doctors are likely to be called to give evidence.
Both defendants were bailed in the meantime.
