Anglesey, North Wales - Body of woman 'found burned' at Newry beach on Anglesey

The body of the woman, who is believed be local, was discovered last night by a security patrol from Holyhead port

A body of a woman was found badly burned close to an Anglesey beach.
It is understood the body of the woman - who is yet to be identified - was badly burned when it was discovered in a shelter close to Newry beach.
She was found late last night by a security officer for Holyhead 's port authority.
Police said the woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and officers are now trying to locate her family. She is believed to be local.
A police spokesman said: "At approximately 10.50pm yesterday, Sunday 12 February 2017 Emergency Services were alerted to the discovery of a woman’s body on Newry Beach, Holyhead.
"She was pronounced dead at the scene and whilst no formal identification has taken place officers believe she is a local woman and enquiries are underway to locate and inform her next of kin.
"At this time the death is not being treated as suspicious, and the coroner for north west Wales has been informed.

District Inspector Jason Higgins at Llangefni Police Station added: "The lady, who we believe to be local was pronounced dead at the scene and we are now in the process of locating and informing her family. Our thoughts are with them at this very difficult time."
The fire service were also called to the scene at around 10.45pm.

Wyn Parry, Holyhead Port Operations Manager, said: "She was found by one of our security details. We are very sad to hear about it, and send our condolences to her family."
