Flintshire,North WALES - A man claims he was 'so bored he turned to indecent child images'

Ian George Patterson, 32, of Mancot, had nothing to do so started watching pornography and later illegal child images and films, court told

A man was so bored while his child was in school he started watching pornography - and then illegal online child images and films.
It emerged Ian George Patterson, 32, had also distributed a couple of images via Skype, Flintshire Magistrates’ Court at Mold heard.
Police who executed a warrant at his home found “a large collection” on indecent images of children.
Patterson, of Mancot Way in Mancot, Flintshire, admitted making by downloading 975 category C images, the least serious, eight category B and five category A between May 2015 and November of last year.
Prosecutor John Wylde said the prosecution was the result of intelligence that now existed between law enforcements authorities internationally.
His IP address was identified as one which was down loading indecent child images from the internet and a warrant was executed at his home address in November.
He immediately told officers there would be items on his laptop and showed the officers where the computer was.
Interviewed, he told how he and his partner separated in 2012. Subsequently his partner tragically died and he had care of their child, who lived with him and his parents.
He described himself as becoming depressed and rarely left the house other than collecting his child from school.
When his child was in school he had nothing to do and started to look at porn.
He then began to look to indecent images of children and admitted he had spoken to others on chat rooms and had distributed two category C images.
The defendant said he had placed images on a memory stick and then deleted them off his computer.
Craig Hutchinson, defending, said his client was a man of no previous convictions.
Mr Hutchinson said there was plenty of mitigation in his client’s case but he accepted that would be best saved for the crown court when he came to be sentenced.
Magistrates ordered a pre-sentence report and he was bailed to attend Mold Crown Court for sentencing next month.
