POLICE have arrested 30 people — including a number of suspected "prolific offenders" — in a 24-hour swoop across Swansea, Neath and Port Talbot.
The operation saw arrests for a range of alleged offences from possession of firearms to drugs, burglaries, and violent crime.
The arrests were part of the latest "days of action" by South Wales Police's western division, which also included crime prevention events and high-visibility patrols from mounted officers.
Acting inspector Chris Mackay said many of the arrests followed information from members of the public.
He said: "Following a number of warrants executed the operation was a resounding success.
"I would like to thank the community for providing the vital support and intelligence that led to the arrests.
"This is an excellent example of how vitally important members of the public are when reporting their concerns to us and the operation sends a clear message to the criminal fraternity that neither their own community or the police will tolerate their behaviour.
"During this latest 24-hour day of action, we were really pleased to see significant good results.
"Our PCSOs were out in the community throughout the operation and were encouraging the public to continue sharing intelligence with us."
He added: "Days like this — which are a regular occurrence — prove that we do value, listen to and act upon the intelligence we receive from the public."
A series of similar operations carried out year saw more than 120 suspects being arrested for offences from domestic assaults to skipping bail — and seizure cash, drugs and luxury cars including a Porsche and a Jaguar.
