A 28-YEAR-OLD Briton Ferry man was jailed for four years for attempting to rob a man while brandishing a knife and a few hours later robbing a woman.
Buster Kyle Whitelock pushed the 56-year-old woman to the ground and took her handbag containing around £300 which she was planning to spend on a holiday.
The incident took place in Baglan at 8.10am on December 28, Swansea Crown Court heard, just a few hours after another incident.

Prosecutor Brian Simpson said at 1.30am 24-year-old Zeke Thornben Morgan was the victim of an attempted robbery while walking in Sandfields, Port Talbot.
Whitelock, who was with another man not charged in connection with the incident, followed Mr Morgan to an underpass and on an embankment twice threatened to cut him with what looked like a steak knife as he asked him for items in his possession.
"Mr Morgan pretended to go into his pockets and then ran off," said Mr Simpson. "He was very frightened."

He got to Southville Road and hid behind trees before knocking on someone's door and raising the alarm.
In his witness impact statement, he said the incident had left him in fear of his safety.
He was sentenced at Swansea Crown Court
Later that morning Christine Johnson was walking to work at Morrisons, Baglan, when Whitelock pulled up in Wyvern Avenue, Aberavon, on a motorcycle.
He dumped the bike and pushed her over into a garden before grabbing her handbag.
"He pulled it with such force that the strap broke," said Mr Simpson.

The bag contained keys, bank cards and a purse containing £250 to £300, which she had saved for a holiday. She was treated at Neath Port Talbot's A&E for discomfort to her lower back.
Whitelock was arrested on December 31 after being identified by CCTV cameras. He told police he had been drinking and had taken Valium before committing both offences.
They had been carried out while he was subject to an arrest warrant after failing to attend court for other offences.
His DNA was found on a motorbike stolen on August 14 last year and recovered two days later.

Then on August 25 he was seen by police riding another motorbike in Portmead Avenue, Blaenymaes, Swansea.
He failed to stop when asked by officers and then goaded them to come after him on waste ground.

"He was remorseful for committing those robberies"

But he then he fell off a kerb and was arrested. He was found to have four grams of cannabis resin and a breath test revealed he was over twice the legal driving limit.
The motorbike was found to be stolen and he told police he had paid £60 and £40 for the two bikes.

Whitelock, of Llansawel in Briton Ferry, admitted attempted robbery, robbery, possession of a bladed article, drink-driving, failing to stop for a police officer, driving with no insurance, driving with no licence, two counts of handling stolen goods, possession of a class B drug and breaching bail.
In mitigation, Dean Pullen said Whitelock accepted that a sentence of custody was inevitable and said his previous offences had largely been dishonesty offences and assorted driving offences.
"He was remorseful for committing those robberies," he said. "He apologised to the victims then and he asks me to apologise publicly again."
Mr Pullen said his client intended to work conscientiously in prison.
Before sentencing him, Judge Keith Thomas told the court: "His antecedence is not a happy document."
Whitelock was also given a three-year driving ban and had his licence endorsed. The judge ordered forfeiture and destruction of the drugs.
