Gwent Police described it as 'one of the biggest drugs operations' in its history
Around 300 police officers took part in a series of 2am raids across a Welsh city.
Nineteen people have been arrested following the raids in the Newport area this morning.
The people arrested are all male and some are as young as 16.
They have all been arrested on suspicion of the supply of class A drugs.
Gwent Police said it was "one of the biggest drugs operations in its history".
Pictures have been posted on social media this morning of the large-scale operation and more arrests are expected.
A spokeswoman for the force said that specialist teams carried out 14 simultaneous warrants in the Newport area.
She said: "These warrants were executed following information from the local community about the supply of class A drugs in the area."
And added: " Already, six people have been arrested and further enquiries are ongoing."
Gold Commander Chief Superintendent Marc Budden said: "This is the largest scale drugs operation we've seen in Gwent.
"Briefings took place from 2am and involved specialist method of entry officers utilising chainsaws and drills to ensure rapid entry.
"We’ve had good results so far this morning and I’d like to thank everyone in the local community for their support.”
