Llandudno,North Wales - Woman dies in Glanwydden crash near Llandudno

Another woman was rushed to the major trauma centre in Stoke with serious injuries

A woman has died and another has been seriously injured in a car crash near Llandudno .
It happened when the black Renault Clio they were travelling in careered off the road and ploughed into a field off Gloddaeth Lane, Glanwydden.
North Wales Police are now appealing for information about the incident, which is thought to have happened between 4.45pm and 9.25pm last night.
firefighters had to use specialist equipment to cut the women free from the car after the vehicle was discovered.
Gloddaeth Lane, Penrhyn Bay was shut after a two vehicle accident just before 9:30pm on Friday. The road was closed in both directions with diversions in place between the A470 and Glanwydden Road.

One of the women, who was in her 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The other woman was rushed to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd with serious injuries before being transferred to the major trauma centre in Stoke-on-Trent.
It is not known whether any other vehicles were involved in the incident, nor how long the car had been in the field before emergency services were made aware.
The road was closed for more than two hours as emergency services and crash scene investigators worked at the site.
A statement from North Wales Police said: “Police are appealing for witnesses following a fatal RTC which took place yesterday evening (Friday 3rd February) on Gloddaeth Lane, Glanwydden, Llandudno between the hours of 1645 and 2125, involving a black Renault Clio.
“A woman in her sixties sadly died and another female was seriously injured.”
A spokeswoman for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the vehicle had been found in a field.
She added: “We were called at 9.36pm and there were two persons trapped.
“Two pumps from Llandudno attended and extricated two casualties using spread cutters, power packs and a ram.
“Fire crews left the scene at 11.13pm.”
A spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service confirmed one woman had been seriously injured and was taken to Ysbyty Glan Clwyd before being transferred to Stoke.
“Police are asking anybody with any information to contact 101 quoting ref number V016081.”
