North Wales - Man 'attacked with hammer' at his Broughton home

A man was seriously injured in a suspected hammer attack during a fight in Broughton .
Police are appealing for information about the assault on the victim aged in his 30s.
The assault is believed to have taken place at the man’s home on Broughton Hall Road shortly after 6.30pm last night and he was taken by ambulance to hospital with “serious injuries”.
Another man, also aged in his 30s, was arrested close to the scene a short time later and remains in police custody on suspicion of wounding.
The Daily Post understands a hammer was used in the attack.
North Wales Police are however refusing to confirm or deny if a hammer was involved.
A spokesman for North Wales Police said: “We were called to reports of a fight on Broughton Hall Road.
“We are investigating a report of a wounding which took place on Broughton Hall Road.
“A man in his 30s remains in custody having been arrested on suspicion of wounding.”
A spokeswoman for the Welsh Ambulance Service said: “We sent a paramedic in a rapid response car and a crew in an emergency ambulance to the scene. A man with serious injuries was taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital.”
