Helpline Dan 24/7 has urged addicts to take precautions as a batch of 'unusally strong heroin' circulating in the area
Drug users have been warned about a strong batch of heroin in the Deeside area.
Dan 24/7, which is the Wales Drug and Alcohol Helpline, has issued a statement on Facebook warning addicts to take precautions about the unusually strong substance said to be circulating.
Some drug users who could be used to a weaker batch of heroinmay overdose.
The statement says: "There has been a strong batch of heroin reported in the Deeside area.
"Take precautions where you can, don't inject alone (so that someone can summon help if you need it) and think about naloxone training.
"You can get naloxone from your local drug project - it's a life saver.
"To find your local drug project you can call us 24/7 on 0808 808 2234 or go to our webpage 'DAN24/7 services."
Dan 24/7 is hosted by the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board with funding provided by the Welsh Government.
