A best man got so drunk at a wedding he could not remember trying to move his car and the crash that followed.
Daniel Jess, 28, from Brymbo Road, Bwlchgwyn, admitted driving while over the alcohol limit on September 17.
Appearing before Wrexham Magistrates the court heard how Jess was found to have driven a Kia Cerato on Nant Road, Bwlchgwyn.
Before the celebration Jess had parked his car near the venue in a lay by but during the night he decided to move it as the wedding got busier.
But in trying to move it he crashed his car into a fence 100 yards from where he had parked.
When he provided a sample of breath he was found to have 109 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.
The court heard that Jess has no memory of trying to move the car.
Justin Espie, prosecuting, told the court: “An ambulance contacted North Wales Police saying there had been a road traffic collision.
“Blood was found on the air bags that had deployed and it was found to be the blood of the defendant.
“The vehicle had substantial damage and had collided with a fence.”
Euros Jones, defending, said: “He fully accepts that he will be losing his licence today and for someone living in that area that is a huge imposition because of the cut backs to the bus services.
“He suffers from epilepsy and had changed his medication and that is the only explanation, but it’s no defence.”
Jess was disqualified for 24 months and given a 12 month community order with a requirement to do 150 hours of work.
He was also ordered to pay costs of £85 and a surcharge of £85.
