CAT owners have raised deep concerns after at least 27 cats were killed across Rhyl, Kinmel Bay and Abergele during the past month.
Residents have reported cats being poisoned, run over and killed and some hurt with what look like suspicious injuries.
Police have launched an investigation into the poisoning of two cats.
One resident, Jade Hurst, who has had one of her pet cats killed and has another that has gone missing from Vezey Street, has logged a number of incidents that have taken place.

On Thursday, October 14 a cat was found dead near the Harbour Pub in Kinmel Bay. On Friday 15 a Tortoise shell cat was found at Ty Gwyn Holiday Park in Towyn alive, but died on the way to the vets after being retrieved by the RSPCA.
The same day a cat was run over in Rhyl and later died. On Saturday, 16 a cat was found dead near Pentre Mawr in Abergele.
This photograph was taken when Molly was six months old. Her fur is now a darker black colour and she has gone missing from Vezey Street in Rhyl
On Sunday, 17 a cat was found in Pensarn near Hearts Caravan Park which later died of its injuries, and another found seriously injured in Rhyl.
Jade said: “Most of these happenings were in places where someone could possibly be laying in wait for the cats for example in entrances to car parks.
“Ty Gwyn Caravan park entrance, Hearts Caravan park entrance, Pentre Mawr park entrance, Harbour pub car park entrance. It’s almost as if someone is laying in wait for these animals to cross.
“One pair of cats were found dead just feet away from each other and there was eight deaths in just one weekend alone. Not one person stopped and reported the incidents and owners are left with the heartache of scraping their cats off the floor.
“One of my cats Pip has died and my other cat Molly who is only three years old has gone missing. I’m absolutely devastated.”
Councillor Brian Blakely, whose daughter’s cat was run over on Pen Y Maes Avenue, Rhyl, said: “My daughter’s cat was run over and has had to have a leg off, part of its tail removed and its pelvis plated. The operation cost over £1000 and it was taken from the wedding fund – so my daughter has put her wedding on hold.
“Since this happened we have learned that 10 other cats have also been run over in this area, most are dead.
“I think we’ve got a few idiots out there – if it’s being done deliberately I don’t know what they are thinking. We have to ask if it is safe for cat owners to let their cat out at all at the moment.
“I would hope residents and police stay vigilant and keep their cats indoors at this moment in time.
“I would hope police get to the bottom of this – if anyone knows anything they should report it to the police and if you do accidentally run a cat over it is extremely important you report this – it’s no different from a dog – it’s the only decent thing to do.”
A spokesperson for the RSPCA said: “We are - of course - concerned about any reports about the welfare of cats being compromised. RSPCA Cymru continues to respond to a number of calls locally, including one recent incident where a cat was found with suspicious injuries in Rhyl.
“Anyone with any information about any welfare or cruelty concerns regarding cats should contact the RSPCA’s 24-hour Advice & Cruelty Line on 0300 1234 999. Calls are treated in confidence.”
Police are appealing for information after two cats were poisoned in Kinglsey Avenue, Rhyl on November 13 – only one of the cats survived.
PCSO Sophie McLellan said: “The vet confirmed that both cats had been poisoned. We are currently conducting enquiries in the area and are keen to hear from anyone who may have information relating to these incidents.”

Anyone with knowledge of the cats being poisoned is asked to contact PCSO McLellan at Rhyl Police Station on 101.
